TITLE: The Musical Magic of Motown

DESCRIPTION: This is a compilation of popular music from the height of Motown in the 1960s.

It depicts the best of Motown in story book form while highlighting the historical development of this successful music company.

HISTORY: Since 1959 Motown has produced first class performing groups and vocalists with top ten record sales in Detroit that surrounded the nation and encompassed the world.

The best music from a generation has become the well-known sounds of a nation and now Celebrating sixty (60) years of musical splendor.

GOALS: We want our young people who are aspiring to succeed in musical performance and theater to know that dreams really can come true if they will just conceive, believe and achieve.

With an appreciation of learning that takes more than talent but also hard work, work ethic, etiquette, professionalism and strategic career planning as was required by Motown this show explores music at its best!

FOCUS: This production actually reveals the steps to transforming inner-city kids from street corners to studios and from studios to main stage headliners.

CONCLUSION: You will enjoy performances from the best of the best Columbus locals.
You will be entertained by the many beautiful renditions from Motown headliners like the Jacksons, Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Four Tops; to the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, Martha and The Vandellas, Gladys Knight and The Pips and the Great Stevie Wonder. Then hold on to your hats as the torch passes to notable acts from today with the Motown influence. Proceeds will benefit the M. Delmar Edwards Museum.
