President Trump endorses Collins in Georgia Republican Senate primary runoff Representative campaigns in Columbus ahead of Tuesday’s runoff election

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - President Donald Trump announced he is endorsing Representative Mike Collins in the Georgia Republican Senate primary.

Collins made a stop in Columbus today, visiting Ruth Ann’s Restaurant on Veterans Parkway. The congressman faces off against former football coach Derek Dooley in Tuesday’s runoff election. He also has Governor Brian Kemp’s support.

The winner will look to unseat Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff in November. That race could be key in determining the balance of power in the Senate for the remainder of Trump’s second term.

“We’re out here today, though stress how important it is to make sure you get out and vote. You’ve got to get out and vote, we seen low voter turnout, especially in the south eastern western portion of the state and the rule areas and we just need to make sure that folks get out exercise your God given right,” Collins said.
