PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) - Phenix City Schools is relaunching its middle school acceleration program under a new name: The Advanced Academy.
The program is designed to provide motivated middle school students with rigorous coursework, advanced learning experiences and expanded opportunities for future academic success.
The Advanced Academy reflects the district’s commitment to academic excellence and student achievement while aligning with updated state guidance and instructional expectations. The program will allow eligible students to engage in accelerated learning pathways that prepare them for advanced coursework, college readiness and future career opportunities.
Program criteria
Phenix City Schools has implemented updated program criteria and accountability measures to ensure instructional quality and student success. These include:
- Adherence to pacing guides reviewed in collaboration with Alabama State Department of Education subject area specialists
- Ensuring all course standards are taught with fidelity during instruction
- Ongoing communication and collaboration among school administrators, counselors and teachers to support students in meeting graduation requirements
