Volunteers needed: THINC like an adult comes to Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - THINC like an adult comes to Jordan High School in Columbus Friday May 2.

THINC like an adult is an opportunity for young adults in 11th and 12th grade to help students learn financial literacy.

They are looking for volunteers to ‘man’ different booths representing housing (renting vs buying a house), transportation (used vs new car, Uber or bike), utilities, groceries, insurance, childcare, and more.

This interactive opportunity provides students with a monthly income, a family profile, a credit score, and monthly household expenses.

“Whether you go to college, whether you’re going to the military, whether you go to trade school, financial literacy is of vital importance.”

—  Dewayne Webb, CEO Global All About Fitness Family

This is the first time something like this will be in Columbus, and they are hoping to expand to other high schools in the area.
