Study: COVID Vaccines May Also Prevent Infection
A NEW STUDY SUGGESTS THE PFIZER ND MORDERNA COVID 19 VACCINES COULD FIGHT INFECTIONS
(CNN) – A team at the Mayo Clinic says the Moderna and Pfizer coronavirus vaccines are effective in preventing infection about a month after receiving the first dose.
After looking at more than 31,000 people who received at least one dose, the team concluded the vaccines could prevent not only symptomatic disease but also overall infection.
Most people who get both doses have a higher chance of fighting the disease and infection.
The new study, which has not been peer-reviewed, looked at medical records.
Researchers say it’s not a perfect study, but gives a good snapshot.
