MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEY SUBPOENAS NYC PROPERTY TAX AGENCY IN TRUMP ORGANIZATION PROBE
(CNN) – The Manhattan District Attorney has subpoeanaed the New York City Tax Commission as part of its investigation into the Trump organization.
Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen has alleged that the Trump organization inflated assets when seeking loans.
Cohen claims the Trump organization then de-valued the same assets when it came time to pay taxes.
Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance’s office has refused to comment on the latest subpoena or the state of the investigation.
His investigators are also reportedly looking into loans the Trump organization received from Deutsche Bank and Ladder Capital.
So far, there has been no response from the Trump organization to this development.
But in the past, spokespeople for the former president’s family real estate business have denied any wrongdoing.
New York Attorney General Letitia James is conducting a separate, civil inquiry into the trump organization.
