Tim Tebow Retires From Baseball

TIM TEBOW RETIRES FROM THE NEW YORK METS' ORGANIZATION

(CNN) – Tim Tebow is hanging up his baseball cleats.

The former NFL quarterback tweeting his resignation from the New York Mets organization Wednesday.

Tebow joined the team in 2016 and hit a homerun in his first plate appearance in a game against the Saint Louis Cardinals.

The 33-year-old played for three full seasons.

Team president Sandy Alderson says it was a pleasure to have Tebow with the Mets and says he should be very proud of his accomplishments.

Tebow likewise had kind words for the team, saying he will always cherish his time as a Met.
