Taliban Sends Open Letter To People Of The U.S.

IN "OPEN LETTER" TO PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES, TALIBAN SAYS PARTIES MUST MEET OBLIGATIONS OF DOHA AGREEMENT TO END WAR

(CNN) The Taliban is reminding the U.S. to remove troops from Afghanistan.

The group sent an open letter to the U.S. saying parties to the Doha agreement must meet there obligations.

The U.S. signed that deal under the Trump administration last February.

It calls for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Afghanistan within 14 months from the date it was signed.

The Biden administration is currently reviewing the U.S. Afghan policy.

The agreement also called for enforcement to prevent any group from threatening the U.S. and its allies from Afghan soil.

The Taliban has lessened its attacks on U.S. troops, but it has maintained assaults on Afghan government forces.

The group agreed to engage in peace talks with the nation’s government as part of the deal.
