Perdue Files To Run In 2022 Georgia Senate Race
DAVID PERDUE FILES PAPERWORK TO RUN IN 2022 SENATE RACE
(CNN) – Former Georgia Senator David Perdue has his eye on getting his Senate seat back.
Perdue lost a run-off election last month to Jon Ossoff, a Democrat who is now representing Georgia.
On Monday Perdue filed paperwork with the FEC to be a 2022 Senate candidate.
It’s the first step in a potential comeback.
If Perdue does decide to run, he will face Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock, the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.
Warnock beat Georgia GOP Senator Kelly Loeffler, who replaced a retired senator so he faces re-election next year.
