Miami Heat To Welcome Fans With COVID Sniffing Dogs
SPECIALLY TRAINED DOGS SET TO SCREEN FANS FOR COVID-19 AT MIAMI HEAT GAME
(CNN) – The Miami Heat will screen fans using COVID-19 detection dogs ahead of Thursday’s game against the L.A. Clippers.
The dogs will screen ticket holders upon arrival at American Airlines Arena.
It will be the first time in months that the team has had fans in the stands.
According to a video posted on the team’s website, the virus-sniffing pups will walk past each fan.
If the K-9 sits, that means it detects the virus and the person and their party will not be allowed inside.
According to the website, being vaccinated will not trigger a dog to sit.
Studies all over the world have indicated that dogs may be trained to detect COVID-19.
That includes a notable study published in the peer-reviewed journal ‘Plos One’ in December.
