Biden To Sign $15 Min Wage Order For Federal Workers
BIDEN TO SIGN ORDERS THAT INCLUDE MOVES TOWARD $15 MINIMUM WAGE FOR FEDERAL WORKERS AND CONTRACTORS
(CNN) – President Joe Biden is expected to sign two more executive orders Friday, including one that moves toward a $15.00 an hour minimum wage for federal employees and contractors.
The order directs agencies to determine which workers are earning below that amount and develop rules to ensure they are not paid less than $15.00 an hour.
Under the order, contractors would also have to provide emergency paid leave to their employees.
The second executive order Biden is set to sign Friday seeks to provide help to those who are out of work or struggling to buy food.
It calls for the Department of Agriculture to allow states to increase food stamp benefits.
