Retail Sales Decline For 3rd Month

RETAIL SALES DECLINE FOR THIRD STRAIGHT MONTH

(CNN) – Retail sales in the U.S. sank again last month; marking the third straight month without any growth.

The Commerce Department announced the news Friday.

Retail sales fell 0.7% in December from the month prior.

The bad news for the retail sector is part of the bigger picture of the economic recovery taking an overall hit in the final months of 2020.

The economy also lost 140,000 jobs in December, the first decline since April.
