Kevin Hart Signs Deal With Netflix
KEVIN HART INKS MULTI-YEAR DEAL WITH NETFLIX TWO YEARS AFTER STEPPING DOWN FROM HOSTING THE OSCARS
(CNN) – Kevin Hart is the latest celebrity to ink a deal with Netflix.
The actor, producer and writer signed a four film deal for his production company, HartBeat Productions.
The deal also includes a “first look” clause, which means Netflix will have the the right to green light future projects before Hart can shop them around Hollywood.
The value of the deal is not known, but similar deals at Netflix have eclipsed $100 million.
Hart is currently slated to star in and executive produce the limited series “True Story” on Netflix.
It marks his first dramatic series and comes after his latest stand-up special ranked as the top comedy special of 2020 for Netflix.
Just two years ago, Hart’s future seemed uncertain.
He made headlines for stepping down from hosting the Oscars after some homophobic jokes he had made year prior surfaced.
