GoFundMe Bans Fundraisers For Some Political Travels

GOFUNDME IS BANNING FUNDRAISING FOR TRAVEL EXPENSES USED FOR POTENTIALLY VIOLENT POLITICAL EVENTS

(CNN) – GoFundMe is the latest company to change business practices after the insurrection last week.

The platform says it will no longer allow people to fundraise for travel expenses used for potentially violent political events.

A spokesperson for GoFundMe says the company has already removed a number of fundraisers intended for that purpose.

But GoFundMe is also being used for good during this time.

A fundraiser was started to raise money for officer Brian D. Sicknick’s family.

He died from his injuries sustained during the Capitol siege.
