Trump Approves More Aid To Puerto Rico After Hurricane Maria
TRUMP APPROVES ADDITIONAL AID TO HELP PUERTO RICO REBUILD FROM HURRICANE MARIA
(CNN) – President Trump has signed off on a $3.7 billion grant to help Puerto Rico rebuild, three years after hurricane Maria.
The White House released details about the aid on Tuesday.
The money will help the island rebuild its water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, dams, and reservoirs.
Hurricane maria made landfall in September of 2017.
More than three thousand people died and the storm devastated the island’s infrastructure.
Locals and experts have widely criticized the president’s handling of the disaster.
This grant is the second major relief package he has approved for Puerto Rico in recent months.
