Kionna Gaines Signs with Clemson Women’s Basketball

GAINES HELPED CARVER WIN 4A GHSA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2019

Four-star Carver point guard Kionna “KeKe” Gaines signed her national letter of intent to play college basketball at Clemson. The 5’9″ guard brings athleticism and hustle on both sides of the ball.

As a junior at Carver, Gaines averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. As a sophomore, Gaines helped Carver win a GHSA State Championship.

Gaines narrowed down her college choices to six Division 1 offers: Kentucky, Clemson, Florida, Purdue, Georgetown and Southern Mississippi. Clemson was the best fit.

“I love the coaches. I love how nice and genuine they are when they’re talking to me and I know they believe in me. I haven’t even got down there and put on their jersey yet. I know playing in that big arena it’s going to feel good.”

Gaines joins the ACC where she’ll face former Carver teammate and Louisville forward Olivia Cochran.
