Secretary Of State Says Will Audit Election Results

BRAD RAFFENSPERGER, GEORGIA SECRETARY OF STATE, SAYS A HAND RECOUNT WILL BE DONE BECAUSE THE OUTCOME OF THE ELECTION IS TOO CLOSE

(CNN) – Georgia is going to do a recount.

Even as Joe Biden’s lead over president Trump continues to grow; he’s up by more than 14,000 votes at this point.

But on Wednesday, Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said that was just too close to call.

Raffensperger said, “With the margin being so close, it will require a full, by-hand recount in each county. This will help build confidence. It will be an audit, a recount, and a recanvass all at once. It will be a heavy lift but we will work with the counties to get this done in time for a state certification.”

The state’s deadline to certify election results is November 20th.

The recount announcement comes in the midst of an intensifying battle in Georgia for two U.S. Senate seats and the Republicans in both of those races called for Raffensperger to step down on Monday.
