Scholar Athlete of the Week: Pacelli’s Isabel Sillitto

The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings will bring back a strong senior class next season, led by 6’0” middle hitter Isabel Sillitto. The junior tallied 130 kills and 30 aces this fall.

“It’s amazing. I love that feeling,” said Sillitto. “I love being the one to be able to push the ball down and get a point for the team.”

“We can move her around the net. She can hit from any position,” said Pacelli Volleyball Head Coach Kristin Trotter. “She’s very difficult to stop.”

Sillitto balances volleyball with academics. The Student Council Parliamentarian holds a 4.39 GPA, participates in three Honor Societies and volunteers for the Viking Outreach Leadership Team. In college, Sillitto plans on studying Pre-Med while playing volleyball.

“I started playing in sixth grade and I think I found my love for it in eighth grade just before high school because I realized it’s something I want to take seriously and pursue in college,” said Sillitto. “I’ve always loved science and science experiments. We dissected sharks one year and I just loved doing that kind of thing.”

The three-year varsity spiker is dedicated, landing a spot on the All-Area Region team in 2019 and playing club ball in the offseason.

“I love playing for something bigger than myself because it’s also a team and it feels like a family, but it’s also God,” said Sillitto. “God blessed me with the talent and ability to be able to play volleyball, so all that I do I want to glorify him on the court.”

Congratulations to Isabel Sillitto, our WLTZ Scholar Athlete of the Week.
