Warmer than Normal Tuesday, Zeta Looks to Bring Rain Mid-Week
It’s going to be another humid night as temperatures get down into the mid 60s under partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. A chance we could wake up to patchy fog in some spots in the morning on our way to a partly to mostly cloudy day with a slight chance of spotty showers late. Highs on Tuesday in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Down in the western Caribbean, you’ll find category 1 Hurricane Zeta. After entering the Gulf, it is expected to steer toward the Gulf Coast making landfall somewhere along the east Louisiana coast on Wednesday. As for our area, expect rain Wednesday into Thursday with upwards of 1″ in Columbus 2″ in Auburn.
There is a marginal risk for severe weather in western Lee and western Barbour Wednesday night. We’ll have to keep a close watch to see if any severe weather watches or warnings will be put into effect for parts of our area on Thursday.
Once Zeta passes through along with a frontal boundary, weather will be fantastic on Friday through the weekend with highs in the middle upper 60s and lows in the 40s and 50s.
