Report: USPS Didn’t Analyze Impact On Delivery
USPS DID NOT ANALYZE HOW CHANGES WOULD AFFECT MAIL DELIVERY, WATCHDOG SAYS
(CNN) – A new report found controversial policy changes at the U.S. Postal Service led to confusion and inconsistency in operations, earlier this year.
The Inspector General for the USPS released the findings of it’s investigation on Tuesday.
The agency looked into Postmaster General Louis Dejoy’s decision to cut overtime hours for employees and 50 other cost cutting measures just months before the election.
It found the Postal Service did not analyze how changes would affect mail delivery.
The Inspector General says all of the changes were made at once which led to slow delivery time for mail.
Dejoy has defended his plan, saying it was necessary to get the postal service’s finances under control.
He suspended many of the changes until after the election amid the criticism.
