Warm And Humid Wednesday

Humidity levels will continue to increase today, as dew points rise into the upper 60s and near 70 in some locations. With high temperatures climbing into the low to middle 80s today, expect a very warm fall day. No rain is in the forecast today, as high pressure north of our area will help keep the rain showers further south of our area. All eyes continue to watch the progression of Major Hurricane Delta as it makes landfall near Cancun, Mexico in the next few hours and emerges into the Gulf of Mexico later today. The National Hurricane Center has Hurricane Delta making landfall along the central Louisiana coastline as a category 3 hurricane (major hurricane) on Friday night. Currently, we’re forecasting additional shower and thunderstorm development in our area, while the heavy rainfall stays west and north of our area. Stay tuned to WLTZ First Weather for frequent updates on Hurricane Delta future effects locally.
