Comcast Refunds Some Fees For Canceled Sports
COMCAST REFUNDS FEES FOR CANCELED SPORTS PROGRAMS DUE TO PANDEMIC
(CNN) – If you are a Comcast customer in many parts of the country, you may be getting a little bit of good news on your Xfinity cable bill.
Comcast says it is working to recover the fees regional sports networks charged them April through June this year.
The company says Xfinity cable customers were being unfairly charged for sports packages when there were no televised sports.
In most TV markets, the refund amounts to just a fraction of what the sports packages actually cost subscribers.
Comcast notified many customers through an e-mail Tuesday to look out for what they call the courtesy adjustment.
For many TV sports fans, the rate reduction may only amount to $4.00 or $5.00.
But Comcast is promising to refund even more, if they can claw back fees from the regional sports networks going forward.
