NTSB Faults Pilots In Crash Involving Dale Earnhardt Jr.
NTSB SAYS AUGUST 2019 CRASH WAS CAUSED BY PILOTS' MISTAKES
(CNN) – Federal investigators say the pilots were at fault in last year’s plane crash involving Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family.
The National Transportation Safety Board released its report Wednesday saying the pilots approached the runway too fast and failed an attempt to abort the landing.
That caused a bounced landing, a landing gear collapse, and for the pilots to lose control of the airplane.
The private jet crashed in East Tennessee.
The NASCAR driver’s wife and child were also onboard.
No one was seriously hurt.
