The Auburn Tigers named four captains for the season on Saturday, one week prior to their home opener against Kentucky. Sophomore quarterback Bo Nix, senior linebacker K.J. Britt, senior defensive lineman Big Kat Bryant and junior running back Shaun Shivers were awarded the honor.
Former Auburn quarterback and current Central Red Devils Head Coach Patrick Nix will be in the Jordan-Hare stands on Saturday.
“Don’t have a clue where I’ll be sitting. Wherever they put the tickets,” said Patrick Nix. “Excited to see him play, and excited to see Auburn play again.”
The Auburn alum started for the Tigers in 1994 and 1995, completing his career with 31 touchdown passes, 4,957 passing yards (seventh in Auburn history) and a (17-5-1) record as a starter. Bo learned a lot from his dad, but it’s the leadership off the field that lasts a lifetime.
“He’s always given me advice about how to be a leader and a captain of my team,” said Bo. “Not necessarily phrasing it as being the Auburn captain. I don’t think that’s been the big deal. He’s always just been an influence on me on how to lead other people.”
