2020 Columbus State Cross Country Schedule Announced

The 2020 Columbus State University men’s and women’s cross country schedule was released on Monday.

The Cougars and Lady Cougars will run in three scheduled meets in October and November, including the Peach Belt Conference Championship hosted by the University of North Georgia in Oakwood, Ga. on Nov. 14

“We are very excited to finally compete after a long time of uncertainty,” said acting head coach David Marley. “Even though it is a shortened season, I know our student-athletes are motivated and will give 100% each time they run.”

The season will begin on Oct. 10 as the Cougars will travel to the University of West Georgia to compete in the Coach Gary Wilson Invitational. Before running at the PBC Championship, CSU will get a preview of the course competing in the UNG XC Invitational on Oct. 17.

Entering his first year in charge, Marley is taking over a successful program from J.D. Evilsizer who coached the previous 17 seasons. The Cougars are coming off of a strong 2019 season as the men’s team won three meets while the women captured two. After winning two individual medalist honors in her junior season, Alli Hay is one of seven returners for the Lady Cougars while six men return to run for the Cougars.
