YouTube Launching Its Own TikTok Competitor ‘Shorts’

YouTube is launching what appears to be what it hopes is a “TikTok killer.”
The Google-owned company’s product is called “shorts.”
It operates much like TikTok giving users the ability to easily shoot and upload video clips from mobile devices.
YouTube is launching it in India, where TikTok is already banned.
It follows similar apps like “Reels” from Instagram, which also hopes to tap into TikTok’s market share.
The news comes after it was announced oracle partnered with TikTok in a deal meant to keep the Trump administration from shutting down the Chinese-owned TikTok.
