Nation To Remember 19th Anniversary Of 9-11 Attacks
DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS, ORGANIZERS MAKE CHANGES TO THE GROUND ZERO CEREMONY PAYING TRIBUTE TO 9-11 VICTIMS
(CNN) – New York City is preparing to pay tribute to the lives lost on 9-11.
This Friday a ceremony at Ground Zero will take place to mark the 19th anniversary of the terror attacks.
Officials note there will be some additional safety measures because of the pandemic.
The biggest change is that this year there will be no live reading of the victims’ names.
Instead organizers will play recordings of family members reading the names.
Those in attendance are also expected to adhere to state and federal guidelines regarding social distancing.
The ceremony will honor the2,983 men, women, and children killed in the attacks at the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and aboard flight 93 on September 11th 2001.
