Carver, Spencer Ready for Heritage Bowl Showdown

CARVER TIGERS ARE LOOKING TO WIN THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT HERITAGE BOWL, WHILE SPENCER LOOKS TO GET BACK IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE

This weeks high school football slate features a game full of tradition as Carver and Spencer are set for another heritage bowl.

Carver has won this matchup the past two years.

Spencer’s senior class is looking to get back in the winners circle for the first time since they were freshman.

This game is normally an out of region game, but Spencer moved up into class 4A which makes this a region game this time around, only adding to an already intense rivalry.

“Somebody compared it to playing Alabama or Auburn in the first game. This game right here is always one that you mark on your calendar,” said Carver head coach, Corey Joyner.

“When you say Carver Spencer, you’re talking about the Heritage Bowl, you’re talking about history,” says Spencer head coach, Robert Sanders. “It’s a personal note to me. My father, Pete Sanders was the first head coach at Carver high school.”

Kickoff is set for 7:30pm Eastern at Kinnett Stadium.
