Lewis Hamilton Launches Own Extreme E Racing Team
FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPION LEWIS HAMILTON WILL COMPETE IN ELECTRIC OFF-ROAD RACING EXTREME E TEAM
(CNN) – Formula 1’s six-time world champion is all set to compete in the inaugural all-electric off-road racing Extreme E series next year.
Extreme E races will be hosted across the globe to promote electrification, sustainability, and equality.
Lewis Hamilton announced his own team named x-44 as an “exciting new project.”
The longtime environmental advocate said in a statement the series appealed to him because of its “environmental focus.”
The first race is scheduled to take place in early 2021.
The season will be staged in five remote locations, which have already been affected by climate issues, like the arctic and the amazon, to raise awareness of climate change.
