Gas Prices Up Slightly Due To Storm

AAA: GAS PUMP PRICES AND DEMAND UP DUE TO HURRICANE LAURA

(CNN) – If it feels like you paid more for your fill-up last week, you’re probably right.

AAA reports the national price of gas spiked about five cents, to an average of $2.23.

You can thank hurricane Laura for that and the increase in demand ahead of the storm.

But prices should trend down in the week ahead; as oil production facilities in the Texas region open back up.

According to AAA the national average is still 35 cents cheaper than this same time last year.
