More Afternoon Storms Today And Less Coverage On Saturday
A tropical air mass and several upper level disturbances will combine to produce numerous showers and thunderstorms across our forecast area today. Some of the rainfall will be locally heavy and a couple strong to isolated severe thunderstorms can’t be ruled out. Highs will be held down today and tomorrow due to cloud coverage and numerous rain showers and storms around. Expect highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s, with heat index values peaking in the upper 90s. The best chance of rain and storms on Saturday will focus on our southern counties mainly. The tropics are also active with the formation of Tropical Storm Josephine; this topical storm will not affect the Southeastern US.
