Big Ten & Pac-12 Postpone College Football Season
BIG TEN AND PAC-12 CONFERENCES HAVE POSTPONED FOOTBALL AND OTHER FALL SPORTS
The Big Ten and PAC-12 conferences became the first power five conferences to postpone the college football season on Tuesday afternoon.
The Big Ten released in a formal statement. In that statement, Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren said ” It became abundantly clear that there was too much uncertainty regarding potential medical risks to allow our student-athletes to compete this fall.”
The PAC-12 followed suit by canceling sports through the remainder of 2020.
The Big 12, SEC and ACC are still pursuing all options to play in the fall.
The SEC is scheduled to begin the season on September 26th.
