Very Minimal Effects from Tropical Storm Isaias for Our Forecast Area

The month of August will start off hot and humid. Tropical Storm Isaias will only have very small effects across our area, mainly in the effects of drier air and a northerly breeze day. Showers and thunderstorms will form during the early afternoon hours today and last into the evening hours. Added lift associated with an upper level trough (lift in the upper levels of the atmosphere) is the main mechanism for the formation of rain showers this morning through the evening hours. Not expecting any widespread severe weather today across our area but some afternoon thunderstorms could become strong. Highs today will range in the low to middle 90s with heat index values approaching 100 degrees. Drier weather is forecast for the next few days so hopefully, you get some rainfall today or received rainfall this past weekend.

Tropics will continue to be active as Tropical Storm Isaias will make landfall later tonight along the South Carolina Coast, east of Charleston South Carolina. As stated before, the main effects will stay away from our area. Another tropical storm or depression could form later this week south of Bermuda, our (record breaking tropical season continues).
