Higher Rain Chances Return

We get a break from the heat today, as highs will generally be in the middle to upper 80s. Of course, with the decrease in temperatures rain chances will be on the rise today and for the next several days. Deep tropical moisture continues to surge into the southeast and with the aide of daytime heating expect showers and thunderstorms to become numerous at times. Not expecting any widespread severe weather but some of the storms could become strong with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and localized flash flooding possible. Storms and rain showers will continue into the early evening hours. Don’t be surprised if patchy dense fog forms late overnight into the morning hours. The tropical Atlantic remains active with a strong tropical wave approaching the northern Windward islands. I do expect this to become a Tropical Depression or Storm later today. Keep your rain gear near.
