Hot, Humid Week Ahead
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS EACH DAY MAY PROVIDE WELCOME RELIEF
After a warm weekend, the week ahead will continue warm and humid, with temperatures a few degrees above seasonal averages. We’re getting the fringe effects of the strong high pressure to our west that has broken record highs over the past week, and that will join forces with very moist air to produce heat index values peaking in the 100-105 range each day. Take the usual summertime precautions if you’re doing any physical activity outdoors during the afternoon and early evening hours.
A lucky few each day will see showers and storms in the afternoon and evening as a disturbance stays nearby to our east to quell some of the effects of the heat dome. Chances for rainfall will average 30-40% each day during the week.
Highs during the week will be in the middle 90s, with little in the way of overnight relief as lows will only be in the lower to mid 70s each morning.
