Hawaii Delays Lifting Quarantine Program
HAWAII IS DELAYING A PROGRAM THAT WOULD HAVE ALLOWED SOME TRAVELERS
Honolulu, HI (KKON) – Hawaii is not saying aloha to its quarantine restrictions for travelers.
On Monday governor David Ige announced he was delaying the state’s pre-travel testing program.
The program would have allowed some travelers to bypass Hawaii’s mandatory 14-day quarantine.
The quarantine is for visitors and returning residents who tested negative for COVID-19.
The governor was hoping to launch the bypass on August 1st.
He now says the program will not be launched until September 1st because of the recent surge in coronavirus cases.
