Authorities Search For Madeleine McCann Evidence
PORTUGUESE AUTHORITIES CONDUCTED SEARCHES FOR EVIDENCE IN THE CASE OF MADELINE MCCANN IN THREE WELLS, BUT THEY FOUND NO NEW INFORMATION
(CNN) – Portuguese authorities conducted searches for evidence in the case of Madeleine McCann in three wells in recent days; witnesses in the village of Budens tell CNN.
The village is near Praia Da Luz, the place in which then three-year-old McCann disappeared in May 2007.
The searches involved the Portuguese judiciary police, officers from the National Guard and at least one fire department diver.
A local law enforcement source confirmed to CNN the searches are related to McCann’s disappearance.
As far as the source knew; no new information was discovered.
The wells are located 15 minutes away from Praia Da Luz.
They are on a road that leads up to a semi secluded beach popular among foreigners, especially among those traveling in camper vans.
The new main suspect in the possible murder of the young girl, Christian B. He had lived in Portugal’s Algarve region from 1995 to 2007.
He also resided in a house in Praua Da Luz, according to the German prosecutor’s office handling the case in the city of Braunschweig.
