NASA works to prevent contamination of solar system

WITH MANNED MISSIONS TO THE MOON AND MARS IN THE WORKS, NASA IS WORKING ON A PLAN TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM

(CNN) – NASA is working on a plan that when astronauts step on the moon and Mars in the future, they leave only footprints.

The space agency is revamping planetary protection guidelines to make sure we don’t contaminate the solar system during our next missions.

The goal is not to bring any microbes that might harm the moon or Mars, as much as to make sure we don’t bring harmful alien microbes back.

NASA is focused on sending humans into deep space once again and people carry tons of bacteria with us, no matter how much we clean.

Since the moon mission will be first, there is a need to have realistic guidelines to protect its unique environment.

For instance, there appear to be parts of the moon that have frozen water or ice.

The new directives will help astronauts avoid contaminating the moon from a biological perspective.

That brings the concept of sustainability to being literally out of this world.
