A Very Hot Weekend!
The high heat and thick humidity will be of great concern this weekend as heat indices could push into the low 100s if not hotter. Some drier air may inject into the area to help bring dew points down a bit. They will still be uncomfortable, but may be a bit more bearable. This would help keep the heat index down, too. Keep your fingers crossed.
A strong ridge out in the southwest will stream a more northwesterly flow over our region through the weekend. This could bring potential for strong to severe storms as daytime heating will make the environment unstable and rip for thunderstorm development especially on Sunday afternoon/evening as a cold front pushes through. We’ll have to keep a close watch that day.
Daytime highs will hover in the low to mid 90s with nighttime lows in the low to mid 70s across the weekend.
