MEXICO IMPLEMENTS "TRAFFIC LIGHT" SYSTEM BASED ON THE CORONAVIRUS TRANSMISSION RATE THAT WOULD HELP IN THE PROCESS OF EASING RESTRICTIONS
(CNN) – Mexico implements new “traffic light” system to help ease restrictions in regions.
The country’s Health Minister said during the daily briefing, the system with four colors show the transmission level in each state and the hospital bed availability.
Currently, 18 states are at the orange level and 14 at the red level, which means high risk, according to the minister.
He also explained, the orange level means there are hospital beds available.
Mexico reported 3,805 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total number of infections to 220,657.
Health authorities also registered 473 new deaths, bringing the country’s coronavirus-related death toll to 27,121.
