AEROMEXICO FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY IN THE US AFTER “SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN DEMAND OF PASSENGERS”

(CNN) – The airline Aeromexico is filing for bankruptcy.

Citing a “significant reduction in demand” from passengers.

The company has initiated financial restructuring under Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States, a statement released on Tuesday said.

In the meantime, the Mexico City based airline will continue operations and adopting health protocols as the COVID-10 continues to spread.

The United States and South America have been some of the worst hit regions.

Mexico has reported more than 226,000 cases, including nearly 28,000 deaths.
