Less Coverage Of Afternoon Storms Today



Expecting less coverage of rain and thunderstorms today. Most of the thunderstorm activity will hold off until after 3PM, that will allow temperatures today to climb closer to normal temperatures with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. Heat index values will be in the middle to upper 90s today. Strong thunderstorms are possible again today, mainly from Columbus and southward. Saturday will feature more showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of area under a Marginal risk for severe storms tomorrow. Dust from the Sahara desert will continue to spread into the southeast this weekend. For some areas this will provide beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
