A Few Strong Storms Possible Saturday
A few pulses of energy will jet across the region this weekend. As there will be ample moisture streaming into the southeast (it will be quite humid), these pulses could kick up a few isolated showers and a thunderstorm or two Saturday and Sunday. A few storms on Saturday afternoon/early evening could turn strong to severe with damaging winds between 40-60 mph the main concern. Heavy rainfall, lightning and hail are also possible. High pressure will mostly suppress rain chances, though. Weekend highs will push into the upper 80s to low 90s with nighttime lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Keeping an eye on the development of another front that could sink toward the area and help trigger thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday. Some of those storms could turn strong to severe. Too early to tell at the moment, but we’ll be keeping a close watch.
