A Stormy Thursday

We saw a few strong to severe storms roll through earlier today and we are not done yet. A SLIGHT risk remains for damaging winds up to 60 mph this evening along with periods of heavy rain, frequent lightning and a few tornadoes. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is still in effect until 10/9c as of this writing.

We can expect more scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Thursday as a cold front continues to slowly make its way through the Southeast. There will be plenty of moisture to tap into to produce those showers, but weaker instability should keep the threat of severe storms to a bare minimum.

As high pressure builds behind the exiting front, southwest flow will continue to pump ample moisture into the area. Although rain chances will be lower Friday through the weekend, humidity levels will be quite uncomfortable. Daytime highs will reach the upper 80s and perhaps some low 90s. Nighttime lows will hover in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Keep smiling!
