More Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms on Wednesday
A cold front approaching the area will continue to trigger showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday. Some storms on Wednesday could turn strong or even severe with gusty winds in excess of 40 mph the main threat. Periods of heavy rain and lightning will also be possible.
This cold front looks like it’s going to take its time passing through. In fact, it is projected to become stationary before high pressure pushes it through Thursday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms could still fire up on the back end of the front on Friday as it exits off the east coast.
Although high pressure moves in behind the front, it will stay quite humid with dew points in the 70s through the weekend. Daytime temperatures will also be getting hotter as they try to push into the low 90s starting Friday and lasting through early next week. Overnight lows will range from the upper 60s to low 70s.
