Higher Rain Chances Continue

Expect more showers and thunderstorms to form in the afternoon hours. Some of the storms today will be strong, with isolated severe storms possible also. The Storm Prediction Center has our viewing area under a Marginal risk (1 out of 5) of severe weather. Main threats are damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning, and localized flooding. Temperatures will remain below normal today, only making it into the low to middle 80s due to abundant cloud cover and high rain chances across our area. The tropics remain active with a subtropical depression in the open northeast Atlantic, moving away from the US coastline. Keep your umbrella and rain gear near!
