Scattered Storms for Dad
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY THIS WEEK
We saw some surprise showers yesterday, and those laid down outflow boundaries that will set the stage for more showers and thunderstorms today. The odds of any one location getting wet are about one in three today, so outdoor plans shouldn’t be cancelled by any means. Hot and humid conditions continue outside of the rain today with highs reaching the lower 90s.
Rain chances increase modestly on Monday then pick up by the middle of the week. While the chance of rain won’t be 100% each day, it’s a good bet that everywhere in the viewing area will see some rainfall by the time the work week ends. The heaviest concentration of showers and thunderstorms looks to come on Wednesday. We may see a few stronger storms by midweek as well that will bring gusty winds, but widespread severe weather is not anticipated.
Temperatures will be held down later this week with the clouds and rainfall, likely only peaking in the 80s each day Tuesday through Thursday. Drier air will infiltrate the region Friday into the weekend, lowering rain chances and boosting temperatures into the lower to perhaps middle 90s by this time next weekend.
Lows each morning this week will be in the 68-74 range with clouds and moisture around, preventing the comfortable lows we saw earlier this past week.
Happy Father’s Day to the dads out there and welcome to the first full day of summer as well!
