Father’s Day Weekend Warm and Dry

The upper-level low pressure that has influenced our weather pretty much all week is finally breaking down and losing its grip on the area. We’ll see one more day of its effects, however, with scattered showers and thunderstorms today during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will be in the 85-91 degree range throughout our viewing area.

After seeing widespread 60s each morning this week, we’ll see a return to temps not dropping below 70 at night over parts of the area. Lows tonight through the weekend will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. High temperatures will increase this weekend as drier air takes hold with high pressure briefly controlling our weather. Temperatures will approach the middle 90s on Saturday and especially into Sunday for the dads out there.

Moisture returns for the work week next week, with showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely especially Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs next week will be knocked down because of the increase in clouds and rainfall around with temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Overnight lows will be in the 70-75 range as clouds and moisture create a “blanket” preventing the cooler morning temperatures from last week.
