Temperatures Begin to Rise
That area of low pressure we’ve been talking about over the last few days is still slowly lifting up the Atlantic Coast and getting farther away from us. Its influence is weakening, but we’ll still have a chance for isolated showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two on Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures will start to warm up as the flow becomes more zonal before turning in from the southwest. Daytime highs on Thursday will hit the mid 80s then the upper 80s to low 90s on Friday. It will get hot for the first weekend of summer with highs trying for the low to mid 90s.
A ridge of high pressure will help suppress any shower or thunderstorm development during the weekend. A quick look ahead to early next week shows another front approaching the southeast that could help trigger a better chance for rain coverage. Still too early to tell the amount of rainfall we could get or the intensity of possible storms.
Along with daytime highs, overnight lows will be on the rise ranging from the upper 60s to low 70s by the time we get to the weekend. Plus, you’ll notice the humidity making a return.
