Russell County Head Coach, Mark Rose Remembers Pat Dye

MARK ROSE DISUCUSSES THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF PAT DYE

On Monday, Auburn legend Pat Dye passed away.

Since then, fans have placed flowers in front of Jordan-Hare stadium in remembrance of the former coach and athletic director.

Current Russell County football head coach Mark Rose played for Dye from 1986-1989, some of the most influential years of Dye’s tenure as head coach of the tigers.

“It all starts with how he treats the individual,” said Rose. “He’s always tough, but he’s always fair. He loved us, everyone of us. Whether we did good or did bad… if we gave him effort he’d do anything for us.”
